This small easy to fit bracket solves an everyday problem that can have catastrophic consequences.
I have been using twin-slot shelving for more than 50 years and it is only after my grandchildren pulled down an insecure shelf full of photographs that I resolved to fix this stability safety issue.
Like many people, I never screw the shelves to the supporting bracket from underneath. It is very fiddly, almost impossible if shelves are close together, and you cannot alter the height of the shelf without first unscrewing it from the support bracket.
This invention fits quickly and unobtrusively on to the top surface of the shelf, simply and cheaply resolving all of those issues. It takes just a few minutes and almost no skill to install. The shelf will no longer slide around and is held firmly in place but still removable.
Everything you need is supplied in the box and the use of a screw is optional. One bracket at each end of the shelf is all that is required no matter how long the shelf is or how many uprights you have.

The standard LesLok "Slot n' Hold" shelf safety bracket fits shelf thicknesses from 1/2" (12.7mm) to 20mm which is a little over 3/4". This is suitable for most installations.
In UK and Europe typical shelf thicknesses are 15mm and 18mm while in USA 1/2" and 3/4" are most common.
We also supply a version of the bracket to fit thicker shelves from 21mm to 26mm (1" = 25.4mm).
Colours available are Black or White in either size. Pricing is the same.
Superficially, most twin-slot shelving uprights and support brackets look identical. Different manufactures, however, have varied the slot size and spacing very slightly as well as the "weight" of the steel used for their uprights and support brackets. This tiny difference can cause problems for the consumer as you cannot always mix and match uprights and support brackets from different manufacturers.

We have tested our LesLok safety bracket for compatibility with twin slot shelving supplied by Wickes, Screwfix, B&Q, Rothley, Element 32, Spur, RBUK etc. Typically with 32mm slot spacing.

Everything you will need is supplied with your order. The package contains the "LesLok" safety fixing brackets, alcohol wipes, 3M Brand VHB double sided pre-cut adhesive pads and 3.5x16mm self tapping fixing screws. Use of the screws is optional but recommended, they are also very easy to fit. The price includes postage and packing to UK Mainland by Royal Mail 2nd class post. Basic Installation Instructions:
Please "test fit" the LesLok safety bracket before you attach the adhesive pad as once it is stuck to the shelf the adhesive is intended to be permanent. Practice inserting the LesLok bracket into the appropriate slot above the shelf and lowering it on to the surface of the shelf to hold the shelf firmly in the required position against the upright.
1. Use the alcohol wipe to clean the base of the bracket and the contact surface of the shelf. Ensure that the surfaces are clean and dry.
2. Peel one side of the adhesive pad from its backing and stick it to the bottom face of the LesLok bracket.
3. Position the shelf in its final position.
4. Peel the remaining backing from the adhesive pad, carefully hook the LesLok safety bracket into the slot in the upright support above the shelf and lower it in to place on the surface of the shelf pressing firmly.
The adhesive is extremely strong and will achieve full strength after a few hours.
5. If required (recommended) insert the screw. No pilot hole is needed and the adhesive pad ensures that the LesLok bracket is held firmly in the correct position. You may choose to fix the screw with the shelf in place but it is often much easier to lift out the shelf (see below) and do this in a more convenient area.
Remove or Re-position the shelf
You can easily remove and change the height of the shelf with the LesLok safety brackets remaining in place.
1. Carefully lift the shelf vertically without tilting it so it "slides" up the wall a short distance to give a small gap between the shelf and the supporting bracket that it is resting on.
2. Tilt the front of the shelf gently upwards to release the bottom of the LesLok safety bracket from the slot in the upright.
3. Gently lower the shelf to unhook the top of the LesLok safety bracket from the slot in the upright while lifting and pulling it towards you to free the shelf.
4. Reverse the process to put the shelf back again. Offer it up against the upright support, tilt the front of the shelf upwards so the top of the LesLok bracket engages with the slot in the upright, lift slightly and lower into position.
